Privacy & Data Governance Policy
Effective Date: August 20, 2026
1. Information We Collect
LightDey collects telemetry data strictly necessary to estimate line voltage and feeder reliability. This includes crowdsourced outage reports, anonymous network pings, and smart plug electrical parameters (voltage, frequency, active power). We do not collect personally identifying consumer financial data or invasive location trails.
2. Tuya & Smart Plug Telemetry
When you register a smart plug anchor, we ingest device virtual IDs and electrical measurements to compute regional feeder stability metrics ($S_s$). Device credentials are salted and hashed; local residential network passwords are never transmitted or stored.
3. Data Utilization & Analytics
Grid metrics are processed through our DMAIC-governed analytical engine to deliver public forecasts and industrial uptime assessments. Aggregated, anonymized statistics may be supplied to research institutions and utility providers to facilitate distribution infrastructure improvements.
4. Compliance & Data Rights
LightDey adheres strictly to the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and international privacy guidelines. Users reserve the right to unlink anchor nodes or request the removal of historical telemetry tied to their hardware identifier at any time.
